Chantier Solidaire is brought to you by the Communauté Emmaüs Lescar-Pau

Chantier Solidaire takes place in the heart of the Communauté Emmaüs Lescar-Pau, established in the Pau-Pyrenees area, in the town of Lescar. The Community is at the foot of the Pyrenees (Vallée d'Ossau/Vallée d'Aspes), roughly 60 miles from the Atlantic Ocean (Biarritz) and 25 miles from Lourdes.

Chantier Solidaire is especially equipped for the young people who come to take part. It is a reserved area, situated alongside the Village (where the compagnons - members of the Community - live), and right next to the Community's farm. Here, all nationalities meet.

Participants of Chantier Solidaire are given accommodation in the Communauté Emmaüs Lescar-pau.

Set up in a central area are caravans, which provide a clean, communal living area.

The evening meals are served in a large, welcoming room, and are cooked by the young people in an adjacent kitchen. Some nights the meals have a Spanish, English or Polish theme, depending on who is on kitchen service that night. This brings together a mixture of cultures. These moments of cultural exchange are very special. The young people discuss, have fun, and their happiness at being around the same table together knows no bounds.

During the day, the members of Chantier Solidaire take part in the Community's activities, in terms of the workshops available, and depending on their interests. The participation in a workshop can last for 1-3 days, so that everyone can try the maximum number of activities the Communauté Emmaüs Lescar-Pau has to offer.
